Saturday Team Match Play
All WOWGG Members,
Saturday team match play is a great way to enjoy, learn, strategize and have fun in match play format. This ‘league’ is all about fun, participation, comraderie, meeting other golfers and enjoying other courses. All WOWGG members (regardless of your match play experience) are welcome. This is a great opportunity for those that work mid-week and can’t get out to play Sierra Gold Team Play. 2026 teams are Catta Verdera, Cold Springs, Lake of the Pines, Valley Hi and Winchester. Cost is $45 (cart fee) when playing at another course; free to us when playing Winchester. Lunch is not included but players are welcome to buy their lunch and enjoy each other's company. What little rules there are, are as follows-
1. The matches are all dual matches. One team against another team once a month usually the last Saturday of the month. You play every team once. Basically each team has 2 or 3 home matches and 2 or 3 away matches.
2. The host team determines the tee times, with the first tee time ranging from 10am to noon.
3. Each club fields 4 teams of 2 players each. The lowest handicap ladies are team A followed by the next two handicap ladies as team B and so on.
4. Each match goes the full 18 holes and scores are tallied through the season. No big trophies, plaques or prizes; just bragging rights for next year.
5. There is no scheduled food/beverage for these matches. If players want to stay and enjoy a refreshment with their opponents then that is up the players.
6. League play is from April through September. 2026 SCHEDULE (to be finalized)
