WELCOME to Women of Winchester Golf Group,an 18 hole and 9 hole group of women golfers here at Winchester.
Newcomer Information:
Any woman member, female spouse, or female spousal equivalent of a member entitled to the privileges of a golf membership of Winchester Country Club, who is 18 years or older, is eligible for membership in WOWGG. Once you decide to join us, please contact Palm Dolk at pgd@surewest.net. We are excited to have you join us and are looking forward to many fun golf times together!!!
Mentors: If you would like to have a mentor assigned to orientate you to our group, please let us know when you reach out. We will assign someone to provide an overview of our group, which we can do during a casual game of golf, if that is your preference. She will also review some basics on golf etiquette, rules, pace of play and posting scores if this is new to you. Please take advantage of this opportunity to jumpstart your golf experience with us. Posting Scores: Once you begin to play regularly, we encourage you to post your scores the day you play on the USGA website. There is a link to this on our website under Links/USGA Login/Post a score. Keeping Informed: WOWGG sends out informational emails to our members regularly. We also provide information on the bulletin board inside the ladies’ locker room. If you have any additional ideas or requests for our website, please let us know. Lisa Locati, our Captain, leads the board as well as all of the activities of WOWGG. Kathy Hwang, our Co-Captain, will be sending you WGANC (Women’s Group of Northern California) Open Day invitations, and information regarding our competitive team play in the Sierra Gold League. Joanna Webb, our Tournament Chair, plans weekly games and will send out any sign-up procedures for special tournaments. Mimi Scott, our Handicap chair, monitors the posting of your scores on Monday and Thursday and is available to answer any questions you may have about your handicap. She also maintains roster info (name, address, email address, etc.) Joanne Bertozzi, our Treasurer, handles our financials and reimbursements. Shelley Neighbor, our Rules Chair, keeps us educated with the Rule of the Month and rules seminars. Check our website for the Rule of the Month under Golf Information.
